Putnam County Dairy Festival
Putnam County is celebrating the 49th anniversary of it's Dairy Festival this weekend. If you're from around the area, we need not explain ourselves, but if you're not here are some facts.
- Putnam County is the Dairy Capital of the world. In honor of this, the Pilot Club of Eatonton sponsors the Dairy Festival each year on the first Saturday in June.
- The Dairy Festival kicks off with the annual 10K Torture Trail at 8 am.
- Vendor Booths open at 9 am including arts and crafts, food, dairy exhibits, and various forms of entertainment. The parade kicks off at 10 am.
So what's all the fuss about dairy farmers?
- They made Putnam county one of the largest dairying counties in Georgia
- They help us get yummy things like ice cream, milk, chocolate milk, cheese, ect.
Come check it out yourself and celebrate Dairy Farming at its finest with us this Saturday in downtown Eatonton.
